How to Get the Most Out of Instance Leveling

3:08 AM Posted by War No comments

The best part about instance leveling is that it allows you to play in groups with friends (or make new ones) while still getting a ton of experience and gold along the way. It takes the monotony out of the daily grind, and if you’ve already been through a few level 80s, this can really reinvent your playing experience.

If you like grinding and like making gold in the battlefield, you probably are already enjoying the benefits of instance leveling (and if you’re not, what are you waiting for?). Although instance leveling is easily one of the fastest and simplest ways to level a toon, there are some tricks and tips that can really help you speed up the leveling process.

Instance Quests

A lot of people tend to overlook instance questing either because they’re too impatient or because they just don’t realize what they’re missing. Although it’s not always the case, the average instance quest gives almost two times the experience that a solo quest does. On top of the experience bonus, you get to have the exciting and fast paced instance group killing atmosphere while questing. It keeps you from getting bored while leveling and gives you some great experience and item rewards at the same time—you can’t hardly ask for more than that.

Rest Bar

One lesser known aspect of gameplay is the rest bar, which is earned by logging out from inside an inn. Players build up their rest bars by the time spent in inns and the time spent logged out from that inn—and they can be very useful while grinding. A rest bar can give you as much as two times the experience per kill, including your instance kills as well.

Even if you’re not planning on instance leveling, always make sure you log out from an inn. If you do decide to level the next day, you’ll be thanking yourself for it.

Bind-On-Account Gear

Everyone knows that bind-on-account gear is a major part of beefing up your character in later levels. You can grab some from the Dalaran Heirloom badge vendors, where you’ll have to sacrifice some Triumph badges in order to get the Heirloom badges you will need to trade. There are a few pieces of gear that are bind-on-account, which means of course that all of your toons can wear them but you cannot trade them to other players. If you’re wondering what exactly makes this bind-on-account gear so special, the bonuses are invaluable for instance leveling. Giving a total of 10 percent experience bonus per both kills and quests, these pieces can make your life a lot simpler.

So that’s it—these are some of the simplest but least well-known tips to maximizing your instance leveling routine. If following a questing addon all day long just isn’t your thing, instance leveling can definitely be a fast and fun track to level 80.

It wasn’t very long ago that instance leveling was, at best, a tedious route to powerleveling your toons. With a company like Blizzard that is constantly adding new ways of gameplay and easier ways to level, it’s important to stay up to date.
